The subtleties of Bach’s Flowers

Buds Of Pussy Willow” by Marcus

About a month ago my son and I began our journey of Bach’s flowers with the help of the wonderful Lise Battaglia. On our first call together this is what she said to me,
“Bach’s flowers are subtle and the changes you yourself may not even notice. It’s something like having a fear of elevators and then one day without even thinking twice you are on that elevator and it is those people around you who look at you and take notice of your presents in the elevator.”
I don’t think that is verbatim but it’s how I recalled the story and those words have stuck. Since December I had notice subtleties for both myself and my son and I had to share a couple with you.

For myself:
With my book “Just Like You” there is a lot of marketing to do and since I am my own publisher that weighs heavily on my shoulders. The one thing I really struggle with is making phone calls – you know those cold calls. My stomach tightens up and all of my energy is just so wound up. So I’ve noticed over the last month that I am beginning to just pick up the phone without thinking about it. I had to make a call a week ago and when I got off the call though “Hey I just did it and was articulate and confident and that was a great call.” I guess the second guessing is slowly dissipating and more confidence is building.

I am feeling more good energy and vibration in my body. I still feel that inner trembling kind of the same feeling like when you’re cold except I am not shivering. I recognize the feeling and I’ve been doing more meditation to relax my nervous system but I do realize that the energy is not bad in fact it is good; it’s shifting and moving.

For my child:
The ability to make choices has in fact turned my son into a crumbled pile of goo. That is the best way to describe it. He’s got the best of intentions but his mind goes racing to each and every possible scenario and he falls apart. He went out with a friend last weekend and bought a rocket. He and his friend assembled it and took it over to the park to launch it. Unfortunately, it was a windy day and the rocket went sky high and flew hundreds of feet into a local construction site. The rocket was gone and his hard earned $20.00 was gone too. A few months ago this whole scenario would have been enough to bring him to tears; thinking about his poor decision and it’s a waste of money because they shot it once and that was it. NOPE..not this time. After his friend left later on that evening he merely said, “ Well, that sucks. I paid the money for the rocket and now it’s sitting in a construction site and I can’t get it back. Oh well, at least we had fun building it and getting it all ready to launch, not to mention that it went really high.”

Lise was right. The subtleties of the flowers is one that just moves with you and in my mind, body and soul it just moves you through the negativity of what we build inside of our heads. It has helped me to get away from my head and into my heart where my passion and desire comes from and where the unsolicited self comes from. I have this desire; this craving if you will to surround myself with only the pure essence of happiness, love, kind heartedness, laughter, friendship, drive and fortitude. I know I am strong or else I wouldn’t be where I am today but the Bach’s flowers and just helping me bit by bit to shed the old stuff and make way for the core of my beautiful being and I can’t be happier.

Wow! Thank you for writing this. Which Bach flowers is the writer referring to for anxious kids
I have a ten year old boy who definitely needs this. Thank you

  2. Hi Jen,
Thanks so much for the reply. Bach’s remedies are very much a personal thing. Each formulation is derived from the practitioner (in my case Lise Battaglia) spending some time asking me questions and figuring out a little bit about my struggles and personality. For me personally it is a combination of:
water violet, vervain, pine, willow, aspen, cherry plum, heather and argimony. For my son it’s red chestnut, aspen, heather, clematis, agrimony, cerato, and walnut. Bach’s flowers really is a very personal thing and if you are interested in it further please don’t hesitate to give Lise a call or email. She will be more than happy to speak to you. In her first article she explains the different flowers and their attributes. Remember it’s a subtle healing and a magnificent journey. 3. Hello Jen, I am so happy that you asked which flowers were useful for anxiety. I am also very sorry that your son is struggling. Remedy selection is based on the individual. If we all responded identically to our stresses there would be a magic pill for us. And wouldn’t that be wonderful! I have a kind of “cliff notes” version of the remedies. Going there you can judge which remedies best describe the kind of experiences your son has. Once you choose which remedies you want to give to your son, you may contact me and I have links to low cost bach flower essences.
