I’ve said so many times in my posts that the struggle with anxiety isn’t just the child’s it’s a family affair and it takes it’s toll on everyone. Guess what? If we all come together it doesn’t have to be such a life sentence; it can be the start of a brighter beginning and stronger future. My village of support is comprised of countless people that all serve a very unique purpose and that I am thankful each and every single day that I have them.
This article struck a chord with me because it talks about how with good communication these children can regain a sense of self and confidence that helps them to move forward. Enjoy the article and remember that you are not alone.

School? Hell no, I just won’t go

IT STARTED without warning in just the third week of high school. Marcus, then 12, refused to get out of bed and put on his uniform.
His mother, Phenella Peterson, brushed it off as high school jitters. Most parents, she reasoned, had faced the challenge of persuading a reluctant child to go to school.
Several days later, as the school bus waited outside, Marcus (not his real name) was again anxious and became very distressed, crumpling to the floor in tears.

I am excited and eager to see what lies in front of me today.
