  1. I read yesterday’s Globe and Mail article about your ongoing struggle to find help for your daughter and I was moved to write to encourage you to investigate homeopathic medicine. I realize I run a risk here of associating myself with a potential throng of well-wishers offering every kind of wacky cure, and I’m not sure what to do about that except to ask you to keep homeopathy in mind, and to point you to some reading material. There are a couple of excellent books for the layman on the topic of homeopathy and children’s mental health by Robert Ullman and Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman called “Ritalin-Free Kids”, “Rage-Free Kids” and “A Drug-Free Approach to Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism”. I realize there is no title here reflecting your daughter’s specific anxiety disorder, but you would get a clear idea of how homeopathy could be helpful in the treatment of a wide range of pediatric mental/emotional disorders.
I would be very pleased to communicate with you by email or phone if I can help you to learn more or to locate a medical doctor or other very qualified practitioner.

    Hi Tracy,
Thank you so much first off for taking the time to read the article and for getting in touch with me. It’s funny you should mention the naturopathic idea because I have a whole story about Sydney’s last three years of life on top of the anxiety. Everything is a circle and one thing definately leads to another. I am working with a fantastic naturopathic doctor and who is a friend of mine as well which has been such a benefit to us. The best thing about it is that while I was asking her for help and describing the details of Sydney’s condition she was able to see first hand in the school yard how things were going. A priceless asset if you ask me. I was thinking about blogging about it since a couple of people have mention food allergies and such. Sydney unfortunately has the worst luck of the draw when it comes to food allergies. I think it’s too much to mention here but I will make the next blog post about her background with food allergies and how I have come to recognize how much a naturopathic doctor is so vitally important in our lives.

Hope you keep reading the blog,
    Darlene
